As a volunteer with ASTOP, you will learn about marine turtle conservation and participate in patrols that save these endangered species. Our volunteers are a critical support system that support our conservation work on the beach and provide economic benefit for the village. Contact us today to arrange your visit.
Your Economic Contribution
As a volunteer, you contribute to the economic sustainability of our project, our community, and Costa Rica. A typical 5-day volunteer commitment has an economic value of $249.30 USD.

ASTOP: $50 to support administration

Research Assistants: $50 ($10/day) to support research assistants
​
Homestay: $125 ($25/day) for accommodation and meals
​
Community Association: $10 to support the community association
​
Costa Rica: 13% tax on all of the above except the homestay ($14.30)
